My Services & Rates

Services can include

At CaniConseils, I offer a range of dog training in Noisy-le-Grand and Paris designed to identify and meet the unique needs of your dog. My aim is to improve the fit between your dog and their environment, working to reduce unwanted behaviors (related to boredom, frustration, or anxiety) and to increase your dog’s range of adaptive behaviors. This approach enhances overall well-being and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

Assessment of past and current experiences

An assessment of your dog’s current (and previous) living environments and experiences, including current and previous training, and training methods used, age, diet, physical status, activity types and frequency, types and quality of social interactions, any breed specific needs, environmental triggers and behavioural outcomes, and the idiosyncratic likes and dislikes of your dog! The aim of the assessment is to compare the needs of your dog, and how the environment meets those needs.

Implementation of interventions

Environmental interventions will be based upon analysis of the information provided by the owner during the assessment, and via directly observing the dog and owner(s) together within various environments. Interventions will aim to improve’ how your dog’s natural physical, sensory, emotional, and psychological needs are met, by directly and positively changing the environment to meet these needs, whilst also respecting the abilities and limitations of the owner. Training will always be offered to the owner to reduce any limitations and improve skills.

Interventions can also take the form of :

Positive Training Support

Antecedent control

Risk management

Positive Training Support

Positive training support is reward based training. Positive reinforcement means adding positive outcomes (rewards) immediately following a behaviour. Dogs learn to perform and repeat behaviours willingly when motivated by rewards (attention, games, food etc), and by understanding what the reward is for.

Whilst it sounds simple, a lack of training experience can result in the accidental reinforcement of unwanted behaviours, perhaps through poor reinforcement timing issues, inconsistency, or poor correction techniques. Training you to understand the “good, the bad, and the ‘why’s'” of training, will help you to be a much better trainer, helping your dog understand what it is that you want him to do, and to know that he is pleasing you! Your relationship with your dog will naturally improve with your benevolent leadership, and a bond of love and trust.

Antecedent control

Antecedent control works to reduce the environmental triggers that seem to ‘set off’ unwanted behaviours. This means managing or altering the environment so that your dog remains, as far as is practicable, under threshold, to help reduce incidences of over-excitement and anxiety, which can lead to unwanted behaviours (barking, lunging, aggression), avoiding these behaviours being ‘practiced’ and further ‘taking root’, to help promote calmer emotions and behaviour.

Risk management

Risk management means putting in place strategies that reduce the risk of unwanted or dangerous behaviours from occurring (similar to antecedent control), and minimising the impact of the behaviour should an incident take place. How this is done will depend upon the situations likely to be encountered, and by preventing or minimising your dog from becoming overwhelmed by the situation. Risk management and reactive strategies will change according to the progress made through the consistent implementation of other interventions.
